Crossing the one and only Panama Canal, on board Royal Caribbean's Jewel of the Seas. Wish you were there with us. This is one of those times when pictures are not enough to show what an engineering marvel this is, and what a giant step it is for world navigation and international trade and commerce.

  • im going on my first cruise in december on jewel of he seas....Im very excited, it will also be my first time out of the U.S.

    any things i should know?

  • @kyobebryant24 how exciting! i hope you'll have fun! i always do. i love traveling and cruising is always fun. lots to do both on board and at the ports of call. i can tell you lots but it would depend on where you're going. if you'll be on the same itinerary as ours, i would say make time to watch the panama canal crossing. i'm not a morning person but i woke up before 6am to watch and it was well worth it. it will take hours but you wanna be up early to get a good spot

  • How do you like the ship? I will be in Europe in August with this ship. It looks marvelous!

  • Europe! Nice! Yeah, this ship was great. Very large (like most cruise ships these days) so it doesn't feel crowded even when it's a full ship. I like RCCL's open layout, unlike Princess where it's more "intimate" smaller public areas. We found the staff very friendly and accomodating. Our waiter and his asst always made dining at the main restaurant a joy, and we were lucky to be seated with some very nice people. Entertainment was perfect for us -Broadway, comedians, etc. Enjoy your cruise!

  • I'm really looking forward to it. I have traveled with Royal Caribbean before, but to the caribbean which was a little to common for me. Either way, this ship in particular seems perfect for my needs, and meanwhile I will be in a place which I truly wanted to visit! Thanks!

  • I was on Monarch of the Seas to the Caribbean before and found the entertainment too juvenile for my taste. But I liked Jewel's Panama itinerary so gave RCCL a second chance and I was very happy this time. If you're going to the Mediterranean, maybe you can post your pix/vids when you get back to give me some ideas 'coz that's my next cruise. Been to Europe a before but land-based. I think you'll enjoy both the ship and Europe. It's an awesome, impressive place in so many ways. Bon voyage!

  • great vid, but who's the guy with the red shirt and long hair who's in the pictures every now and again? Seems like a nice fella but don't know why he's in so many of the pics!?

    Thanks for the vid. :)

  • Good vdieo.

  • I just was on a cruise to Panama on this ship but not near the canal.

  • Hey I had NO idea that you could go off there at all while on a cruise! That's real awesome :o
