On the 15th October 1997 Thrust SSC became the first car to ever break the sound barrier. Piloted by Wing Commander Andy Green of the RAF, a top speed of 763.035mph over the flying mile was achieved.

I've uploaded five videos, one on-board and four external (but unfortunately sound-free) videos that I found on the back end of a BBC website. Click on my profile for the list.

  • y r dere so many lines on d track.... did they run dat THING many times?

  • rajnikant is faster :P

  • at 0.17sec the dust cloud changes colour,. That's the driver shitting himself.

  • @VvKarmavV So don't buy one.

  • So how fast is it going in this video?

  • its not even a car like its fucking stupid

  • @dundonrl oh, i wonder how fast that thing can do in at a 1/4 mile lol

  • @7150285 easily.. a .50 BMG round moves at approx 2815 feet per second (or 1920 mph) considering that the car is only doing 763 mph, it would easily catch it, even if you were shooting at it from directly behind it..
