oh how I miss the old "American Music Shop" :_-(, and Matraca Berg...and J.D. Souther....in the way Matraca handled the song...she would be about the right age to have been influenced by the great recording of it by Linda Ronstadt, you could almost hear her fashioning a bit in Linda's take of the song....a great performance and something of an homage to Linda and J.D.'s wonderful take on the song....beautifully done.

Written about Linda Ronstadt??? I thought it was written for, and recorded by, her; by JDS. He is a class act nevertheless and he must be THE angst meister. I always wondered where Don Henley got his inspiration from until I sat down and listened to the body of work produced by JDS.

@captainsoul1953 I think not!

My heart goes wobbly when they sing "thats the way it sometimes goes". They are beautiful together.

@randikash Mickey is an absolute legend. Take a look at this if you like his work; JonMark plays with Marie, too..

@jimincairns That would have been Marie Rhines. Wouldn't she be too old? Anyway, glad you remember that fabulous man & his work.

Delightful...and I think the lady violin player worked with Mickey Newbury on his marvellous performance live of 'An American Trilogy'..please correct me if I'm wrong.
