I've had my HP-22 since 1994. It has well over 12,000 rounds through it and if you take care of them and clean them well after each outing to the range, it will give you years of trouble free operation. That's 16 years and over 12,000 rounds and the firearm is as dependable today as when it was new. Some hate it. That's why we have the option to buy something else. Great review Ms. World! Keep em coming!!

I bought one of these about 2 years ago and have never had a problem. You have to remember what you are buying when you buy one of these. Of course its not a Sig or S/W, but for the money, I consider this a great investment. Great review and keep up the good work.

@torrilynn I will say in the weapons defense that the company clearly states that you should not use anything besides standard velocity ammunition in the weapon. Unfortunately, thAT severely limits your options concerning self defense, so i feel for you. As just a little plinker though, this little bugger is smooth as silk, so long as it is well maintained. HOWEVER, the QC at the factory isn't the best, so you do get some bad apples.

@anthonytony1er DO NOT BUY THIS GUN i had 1 and it fell apart in 3 diff places in less then 800 rounds 1. the bottom of the mag fell off 2. the mag relice fell off 3. both sides of the main frame inside the breach has a 1 to 1 1/2 inch crack i can not belive theres not a recall. its totaly unsafe
even when it worked, with the extended barrel it was spray and prey behond 15 yards and was not that acurate even at 15 the gun is a brick tis heavy unsafe and it jams a lot

@ethereal3700 LOL, you are too funny. I've heard so many wonderful things about this gun and your opinion is one sided and it is just one mans opinion. My guess is this is one bad apple in a bunch because my experience with this firearm is extremely positive

Good review. But these guns suck. I paid too much for one. All the safeties are a joke. This piece is totally unreliable, even when using the best ammo (cci minimag/stingers). Seriously the worst gun I've ever owned.

@torrilynn Well we all have different experiences & different opinions about almost everything ever made from cars to clothes & tools. If I'd listened to all of the negative reviews I would not have purchased this gun, needless to say, I didn't listen and in my opinion after around 350rds I've only had 3 misfires to date and I just went out and shot it today. I actually love this gun so far and would recommend it to those on a budget for sure. I'd rather have a piece of a gun than no gun at all
