Seems fun to me.

They get away with it too. Especially when the front coordinator is one of thier buddies, while other who are doing hard worked get harrased for not doing enough , and most of the front coordinators dopn't have a clue about thier own job or the people they are suppose to be coordinating.

There are also a bunch of lazy baggers at my store who go outside and do hardly anywork most of the time. They will start to push carts if the assistant store manager or store manage happen to show up outside, but usually the are listening to thier ipod, just standing by a line of carts , talking on or playing with thier cell phones, or just walking behind the store doing nothing.

The 5 cart policy is violated most of the time at busy stores. Of course if you get injured , you have no recourse because you violated Publix Policy, even though your managers make your push heavier loads while tons of old or lazy people stay inside and bag all day. I told my CS manager that it was against policy to push more than 5 carts, and he told me I had too because the store was too busy of store to follow the company policy.

We could never do this at walmart, always to busy >.>

I automatically feel like I'm friends with anyone who works at Publix.

It would be nice if the cart handles had coin slots where the customer can insert a quarter to remove from a locked chain, then when the customer returns the cart to the chain,he/she can reclaim his/her quarter. This method will end loss and scattering of carts and cart duties. If warehouse-type retail outlets like Sam's Club and CostCo can do this, why can't Publix?

I'm a former Publix employee and I've seen managers carry more than 5 carts. There are times when the foyer is low on carts or completely empty that some employees will carry more than 5 to get the job done faster and risk possible injury and counseling. On days before major holidays when the store is closed(Easter,Thanksgiving and Christmas),carts quickly disappear because of heavy customer traffic and you gotta keep the foyer full. Worse, many customers will not return the cart to its "home".
I work for Publix and you are not supposed to carry more than 5 carts.
