Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche (October 15, 1844 August 25, 1900)was a nineteenth-century German philosopher and classical philologist. He wrote critical texts on religion, morality, contemporary culture, philosophy, and science, using a distinctive German language style and displaying a fondness for metaphor and aphorism. Nietzsche's influence remains substantial within and beyond philosophy, notably in existentialism and postmodernism

  • "Participate joyfully in the sorrows of the world."

  • Religion does have value insofar as people's belief in God goes as this belief determines their actions and reactions and hence shapes the world, even if there is actually no God.

  • Wow. Educational, inspiring and motivating. Thank you very much!

  • Nietzsche is a dramatic self improvement course in the humanities. Look to the American Indian for a society of virtue to trump him.

  • Neo-Spartan?

  • I have read most of his books, but i loved this to :-)

  • @toolatefrozensolid It's beyond just resources...It's the very interaction of beings within nature that needs a massive change...because no matter how you try to conserve, and teach and try to find new resources...It will all eventually fail-since humans are kinda...greedy bastards who their main goal is to have MORE of something in some form.

What we should do,start by changing our goals...because the current one is just a massive arena of meaningless wars and torments that repeat itself forever

  • @Wharwulif totally agree. If everything is meaningless, then why not do what you feel is right? There is no purpose, so what have we really got to loose by trying to conserve the value of our natural resources? Hopefully we evolve sometime soon...

  • @Wharwulif yeah you're right, reading Nietzsche can be a powerful thing. I think it was Averroes that said all muslims should do philosophy but not all will have the chance... its like that in all cultures. The best minds remain hidden, confined by the boundaries of their culture and mortality.

  • @toolatefrozensolid Actually, people first need to READ what Nietzsche wrote to the fullest extent before even deciding to either like or dislike the overall-perspective upon him.

And you are correct-those who go through the entire film, actually check the idea to the fullest, those that remain actually see a point within it all.

Also, conflicted reputation can lead to many results..who knows, maybe the most incredible thinkers are actually those No one had ever heard about at all

    what a shame really
