Oh yeah, I remember once in Memphis, the audience was so into it & didn't want them to stop, so the band kept on playing an instrumental. The damned cops came up on the stage and turned off the amps and grabbed the sticks out of the drummers hands.

I saw this show in Memphis, TN in 1965, 67', & 68' before audiences that were 80 - 90% black. That's the kind of audience this should have been filmed with. Those Parisians acted as if they were at an art auction or something.

thank you for posting. i saw James Brown in JACKSON, MS, as a 17 y/o in 1967 and again in 1968. those were bad times in MS, but James Brown and his organization made the shows perfect for everyone, I recall he provided the security. don't recall seeing a Jackson cop. It was a family experience. There were Grandmas and Grandpas to little kids, and a few white kids too. My bud and I among them. Still the best shows I ever saw!

If this had been an concert in America, the audience would have pulled THE FAMOUS FLAMES off the stage when they went out to shake hands !!
