As a family we have traveled down a path from medical birth to family centered birth and natural family living.

As a mother I have experienced a range of traumas around the births of my children. As we moved towards childbirth self sufficiency, I discovered the joys of natural family living and was able to heal from the darkness that engulfed my mind and heart.

I am convinced all families could benefit from a more natural approach to birth and mothering and challenge any woman who is not happy or content with her life as a mother to seek out alternatives to the current chemical based parenting practices that define western family living.

Home Birth, Breastfeeding, Whole Foods, and a quiet family life bring JOY into life!

I testify that healing, real, pure, unadulterated healing is possible for every woman traumetized by her birth, post partum, and betrayals experienced at the hands of well meaning but totally uneducated health care professionals.

My blog, The Natural Family Blog is dedicated to helping families wean from chemical mothering to Natural Family Living.

  • I planned to have unassisted, but I at least had my baby as a VBAC, if I decide that I want a 3rd baby at some point, I will have my baby unassisted. Knowing about these stories make me feel empowered. Both of my births have taught my body about childbirth, and creating beautiful children.

  • Beautiful! I plan to have an unassisted VBAC with my 2nd child who is due in december. Very nice, inspiring video, thank you for sharing :).

  • I also want to say that I'm glad you finally got the experience that helped you to heal, and I pray that healing may continue to bring you joy for a long time.

I just hope that, when it's my turn, I may have the same blessed feelings about it (Still in the planning stage). Thank you so much for sharing.

  • I was wondering something. When you say you didn't cut the cord, does that mean your baby was attached to its placenta for eight days, and, if so, how does that all work (I'm just a very curious person! I don't mean to offend or anything. I just want to understand)

  • I wish that every woman could have the birth she wants....but I am on my third child and feeling a huge lean toward a very natural birth, but it scares my husband, and his entire family is so very much against it. I am praying that God will help me in influencing these people in believing that epidurals and being tied to the hospital is not the only way. I believe that I have a better relationship with my daughter whom I used no drugs, not to mention with my husband.

  • You are so lucky there were no complications!
