In the PhilZone again here - Warren cant deal with having a day off, so he joined Furthur for the second set of their show on Sunday night at the Best Buy Theater. Good for us.
They opened the set with Blue Sky, the longtime favorite penned by Dickey Betts, which the Allman Brothers do not play. This is Dickeys tune you know it. Noone sings that one like Dickey either. The Allmans will jam on the melody for a couple of minutes, but thats about it.
So this was very nice.

Warren was laid back tonight as compared to his playing with the Allmans, where he plays with his nuts hangin out. It was good though, and he was quite the complimentary player to the rest of the band. Hes the man.

  • Living proof God plays music

  • @oddalot oh yeah

  • I'm about half way through this clip, and my mind is already fully blown. Wanee is going to be SO SICK this year, 420, The Allman Brothers Band and Further!! Insanity.

  • Love the description lazylighting hahaha so true.

  • Nice to see Warren sporting the red 335 for this. He is without a doubt one of THE hardest working musicians off all time. He sits in one of the best seats you can imagine. He gets to pick the musicians he wants to play with, and none of them decline the chance. Lucky for all of us. Just saw him in P-Town Oregon, and it did not disappoint!

  • weird

  • It's funny seeing the comments from people saying Bobby's pretending to play...is he even turned up or plugged in. How can you not hear it? Bobby's tone is so easily definable....it's up in the mix fine!

  • Incredible. If you don't hear Bobby, you never heard him in the Dead either. Same kind of subtlety. Really nice recording, good visuals...

  • Its just amazing....thanks for all the vids lazy
