Nirvana sounded nothing like either of those bands..if anything their sound was influenced by the Wipers,Pixies,Melvins,Big Black,and the Vaselines, but with their own personal touch that made them original,everyone has their influences,its what you do with them..Cobain left his mark on rock history and punk rock respectively.A real rock icon.

Cobain didn't wipe out anything. The genre ran its course. Just like grunge. Nobody would follow grunge today. the 90's are over and so are those bands as well. Stop living in a generational bubble.
BTW, there was nothing original about Nirvana. They were a Ramones/Cheap Trick rip off. But you probably have no idea who those bands are.
