@QwertySkill because Hydrochloric acid by itself will not readily dissolve gold. It takes a mixture of Hydrochloric acid and Nitric acid ( this mixture is also known as Aqua regia) to dissolve gold.

I like Chum Lee, he can be very witty at times, but I think he has a gentle soul that shines through. And yes he's way smarter than what he lets on.
