I'm ethiopian and my hair texture is different and everyone always thought it was fake for the longest time. I agree with you. genetics play a big part. but really it is about the care you give you hair. My hair has always been just below my shoulders and since i've been taking care of it the length has grown to bra strap.

@LynnMonroeTV I like your comment for the most part, but I just want to say that even "WAY" back in the day, Africans all had different textures of hair. Ethiopians have different hair from those in South Africa or other places, for example. There are darker skinned people with very coarse, kinky hair, and lighter skinned people with the same...and vice versa. Darker skinned with wavy, curly, soft hair naturally.

That's right LynnMonroe!
its ashamed how so many people are ignorant. yes black people can grow hair. they dont ask any other race if they're mixed. but when they're black and have long hair "are you mixed?" you know why a lot of black ppl don't have long hair? its because 90% of African American women get relaxers and don't know how to get them properly and their hair breaks off. she's natural and takes good care of her hair thats y its so long. if u take care of urs too, then it can get long also.

There is a lot of anger about this topic of blacks and ethnicity, and I kinda wish everyone would relax, as blacks we are the most unique race when it comes to be composed of something, and we should embrace it. At the end of the day one little drop considers you black, and orginally like WAAAY back int he day, "blacks" didn't have the different textures of hair we have now, it's genetics folks, and just leave it at that, even if you aren't sure of what type just don't get so upset about it.
