Devdas Dance

Hello Everyone! This is a dance to the song Kahe Chhed Mohe from the movie Devdas. It is a dance I have choreographed with Indian Classical dance steps...Hope you all enjoy it! :)

@MrDesiboy84  thank you very much..haha, I have only trained in bharatnatyam, kuchipudi, and odissi.....no kathak training, although i try really hard to emulate the movements....

@realist441 Well, I intended it to be mostly bharatnatyam (I've never actually learned kathak, although I would really like to), but I can somewhat see the similarities to kathak. So, I suppose you could say it is both :)

You are very talented, in dance, choreography both. Do put it to good use. Such great talent needs to be with people who are graceful, maintain stature & spread this for the sake of raising goodness in hearts of men..

Movements r graceful, expression is good but can be more sharper.. put in more energy, may be you practised quite a bit before the shoot. Overall - great performance! nice energy, good expression, smile is simple & adds beauty... hands & feet are very supple - a masterpiece! :)

The music, costume, and turns gave the dance flow. As a practitioner of Kathak, Anumita's dance does not contain the basic elements of Kathak. However, that only made her dance better. Using South Indian dance gestures throughout the dance enabled the rapid footwork and turns to fit well within the overall dance. It is a great piece! I don't agree that the dance should be more playful or seductive. Devdas was a movie about self-destructiveness, which is not something to be desired or emulated.
