The European Commission spent over £80,000 making the atrocious "Science: It's a Girl Thing" video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g032MP...) . A group of Bristol Psychologists decided to see if they could do it better on a budget of £7.66.

THIS IS A PARODY!

In fairness to the EC, they did withdraw the video and the notion behind their campaign is a very important one. Do take the time to check it out - http://science-girl-thing.eu/en/splash.

If you would like to do something practical to help women in science, why not buy a calendar here? http://www.sciencegrrl.co.uk/

Am I the only one who thinks that the endtitles is the most powerful part of the video???

...to the most complex physiological & behavioral functioning, which all require designing experiments, collecting data, running statistical analyses (that's math, in case you were not aware), and yes, submitting papers to the journal Science. Don't be naive -- these are smart women, and scientists nonetheless.

-Sincerely, a Harvard University female scientist.

That has nothing to do with the fact it was made by the psychology department right.....

" collecting data, running statistical analyses (that's math, in case you were not aware)"

EVERYONE does that. It's life. A clerical assistant does that job, a rugby player improving his game does it, a restaurant manager looking to increase earnings. Are they all scientists?

I noticed you lumped the two together. Neuro obviously is a science - psychology is a SOCIAL science, in the same league as sociology and business.

lol whatever you want to believe, the fact that you return to this months later doesn't need a diagnosis, it's just sad.....
