Jake Locker finishing off a 17 play, 76 yard drive to bring the Huskies within one of BYU with two seconds left in the game. Locker was called for an excessive celebration penalty (for throwing the ball into the air) and BYU blocked the extra point. Game should have been decided on a two-point conversion or OT, not an excessive celebration penalty.

  • We need to get back to the good 'ol days. Does ANYONE remember Tuiosasopo? (however you spell his name) THat's what I"m talking about!

  • NCAA 2008 Rules

    Page FR-122

    2. After a score or any other play, the player in possession immediately

must return the ball to an official or leave it near the dead-ball spot.

    This prohibits:

    (a) Kicking, throwing, spinning or carrying (including off of the

field) the ball any distance that requires an official to retrieve it.

    (b) Spiking the ball to the ground.

    (c) Throwing the ball high into the air.

    (d) Any other unsportsmanlike act or actions that delay the game.

  • The score was deceiving. We were lucky to even be in the game. Pitta or whatever played very well also. This is the sad reality of the UW Football program though, mocking a MWC team we should be beating no matter what. Who cares 1 point or 20. This is the Pac-10, hello. Don't be a Coug. We are Washington, this program can do better than that.

  • I was thinking about it and yeah I agree with you if Willingham doesn't produce by the end of the season (aka above 500), then he should be fired, I just think people are being too harsh on him cause his team did pretty damn well against BYU, and who knows how we'll fare against Stanford, Cal, OSU, UCLA etc. Your right though this season will make or break him, and hopefully if he goes we'll get somebody good.

  • Scratch? Not true. If UW is smart and hires a good coach with a good rep, we may even do better recruiting than TW has done, which by the looks of the overall talent on the team is not too good. This opinion of yours is a myth that many college teams with traditionally strong programs prove to be false every year.

  • O! and guess what happens if Willingham gets fired... WE START AGAIN FROM SCRATCH!!! The problem with our program right now is that we don't have much depth and taking Willingham out of the picture only sets us back even more. If Willingham gets fired then the higher-ups of UW are idiots.

  • If UW was outplayed so much then why did we lose by only one point??? You can say it was all locker or whatever but HE IS A MEMBER OF THE TEAM so it was the huskies, regardless of who actually scored the last touchdown, who played that well. The only real playmakers for BYU were Unga and Hall but nooooo nobody critices them for having two main guys everybody goes to. We're aren't even ranked in the top 50 and we gave BYU a VERY run for their money, BYU deserves to be in the top 15 my ass.

  • "I'm sorry for enjoying football"-Jake Locker.

And UW fans aren't bad. We're not the ones that started chanting while a stretcher was being brought out to another teams's player. Thank you very much.

  • No... i just want to keep religion out of the picture, if thats too much to ask

  • Please!! On par?! UW was completely outplayed! Tyrone needs to go... or resign.
