West Virginia University Robert C. Byrd Health Sciences Center Department of Community Medicine Interim Dean, Alan Ducatman, M.D. and M.Sc. discusses the forward progress of the new School of Public Health.
The Department of Community Medicine is a dynamic, interdisciplinary teaching, research, and clinical enterprise. Faculty teach and mentor a rapidly growing student cadre in the Master of Public Health (MPH) program, the MS in School Health Education, the PhD in Public Health Sciences, the combined degree programs such as the MD/MPH, and the Occupational Medicine Clinical Residency. Our graduate students come from diverse undergraduate majors, including agriculture, biology, chemistry, education, exercise physiology, nursing, nutrition, political science, psychology, sociology, and statistics.
