This video is one that has been in the making for a while for me. One that I was a priority as it will soon be gone.
As a life long Dallas Cowboys fan, Texas Stadium has been synonymous with the Dallas Cowboys and has been host to enumerous memorable and historic moments, not only for the Dallas Cowboys and the NFL. But for fans of sport.
The stadium opened on October 24th, 1971, and is due to be demolished in early 2010.
While I am extremely happy for the Cowboys new stadium, it's hard to see Texas Stadium in it's current state. Yes, it's looked old and run down for years now, but when a game was being broadcast and the blimp had it's sights set down on Texas Stadium, the view was unmistakable. The only seats that remain in Texas Stadium are owned by the City of Irving and everything that belonged to the Cowboys has been removed and auctioned off to collectors, individuals and former Dallas players.

Thanks to Texas Stadium for all the memories. You will be gone, but never forgotten..

  • @Airman241 Yes. It was moved and taken to it's new home at Cowboys Stadium. I have a few pictures of it on myflickr stream.

  • you got DESTROYED by the BALTIMORE RAVENS! as usual.. you softies tell ur gay ass LB to stop trying to rally up the troops like Ray Lewis its so embarassing and rediculous god was a poser.. i forgot the douche bags name cuz hes a cowboy and they are all irrelevent

  • @RandyFoxKiller How many Lombardi Trophies are in the Ravens case?

Talk to me when, and if they get close to our neighborhood!!!!!

  • @DizzyDougTV well, the ravens was founded in 1996. So, it's only fair if you look at 1996-2010. And, oops, ravens: 1, cowgirls: 0.

  • @Elbometallica Your response is an EPIC FAIL, post, LOL. The Baltimore Ravens were founded as the Cleveland Browns in the NFL. It was in 1996 that they RELOCATED from Cleveland to Baltimore!

  • @Alxe73191 yeah, just about everyone knows that. One reason of the many reasons of what makes the new stadium so badass!!!

  • did you know: the huge screen in the new stadium cost more than the old Texas stadium itself

  • @jacfred I totally agree!!! As sad as it is corporations really are taking over the world. So they have to be pampered and in the sports venues case you gotta take stadiums and make them "resorts". If it doesn't have enough luxury boxes(where people can company tickets, take their children, drink excessivley and then throw up on themselves and make themselves look like idiots) then it's useless so it must be destroyed. The 80's expansion NBA teams, their original arenas have been imploded. Sad.

  • Who's Tom Landry??.....j/k :)

  • OK! Please tell me what was wrong with a structure that was less that forty years old? Don't bother. I think I know the answer. To think there are structures/buildings in Europe that are centuries old. This is really screwed up. Professional sports really suck!

  • @devantesworld At the end of the day we don't care. Eagles are a joke in Dallas! For all the shit you guys talk still have nothing to show for it!

So keep on spelling that name no one cares!

  • The CowGirls SUCK

  • I'm really glad that this hideous eyesore is gone.
