Not to shabby considering the we drove the car for the first time on Tuesday and we never had the chance to run on the new tires. We had been practicing all week on 3 year old R6s. The dirt section was pretty loose but we seemed to have a firm grip on things by the Ws. Only to notice at Devil's Playground that the clutch pedal was not coming all the way back up. It sunk lower and lower with each depression until at Bottomless Pit when it stayed on the floor. I managed to pull it up with my toes a few times and milked a few more shifts out of it until it completely gave out at Lower Gravel Pit. No clutch at all from there to the top. It was not too bad till Cog Cut when I couldn't find 2nd. We almost came to a dead stop when I found 1st and managed to make it to the top. We were sure that our race was over. We had done our best... Imagine our surprise when Bobby Unser Jr. came over to us to collect us for an interview.

VERY SORRY for the "not safe for work" language. It was a stressful moment.

  • how you like the maperformance Billet BB 20G? how much power are you putting down? race gas or E85? is it ported?

  • @juanmedinar20 I loved the MAPerformance 20g. We were putting down 358 awhp and 400 ft lbs of torque on AWD Tuning's Mustang dyno in Flower Mound TX running on Hyperfuels E95. WE were running a basicly stock motor with the exception of MAP's head studs, Manley Rods and Arias pistons.

  • It was Bobby Jr. And I found him quite pleasant. I was not interviewed by him he was alternating with the local news guy and you were interviewed by which ever one was ready when they had the final results. I meet Bobby last year and had breakfast with him at Mildred's one morning after practice. He was wearing an Unser racing ball cap and a Grateful Dead t shirt. For some reason that image has stuck in my mind. Nice guy in my book.

  • That's my dream to one day race the Pikes Peak! I was born in Colorado Springs and i moved to canada at a young age but when we went back to visit my birthplace, i knew that one day i would race that track! It must be amazing!

  • Can she chew gum and drive at the same time?

Or can she listen to co-driver at the same time she drives?

    Too scary for me.

  • Nicely done - congratulations. John H. told me about this.

Hope to see you out racing sometime in the future.

  • Brianne can drive like you guys would not believe, I've ridden with her, all I can say is OMG!

  • I'm so amazed at your driving skills. I would have been off the mountain :) I'm sad I missed it this year. But it was good to see the race from inside your winning car! If the car didn't break before the top it wouldn't be a Pikes Peak race, LOL.

  • Wow.. even with the problems at the end you guys still took the win. I can't believe how calm you were when it happened, to be honest. I'd have dropped a lot more f bombs than that :)

  • Thanks for putting up that video. Congratulations on this year's effort and good luck in the future!

  • Awesome effort!
