By June 6th, 1944, nearly two million American soldiers had crossed the Atlantic to join the fight to liberate Europe from Nazi terror. Bob Slaughter was one of these soldiers. A survivor of Omaha Beach, he is a rare witness of this crucial moment of our history.
In addition to spreading his message of peace, he was also a pioneer in creating the national D-Day Memorial honoring those who lost their lives during that crucial battle. Told using historical footage and interviews, Slaughter's moving tale is brought to life and reminds us of the enormous victories and sacrifices made 60 years ago.
