    have an appreciation for good music. Unfortunately, "Traditional Negro Spirituals" began when the United States implemented the institution of slavery. Our country "enslaved" human beings and out of this inhumane act, beautiful music was born. It's important that people learn where and how this music came to be. Without it, we would have no blues, jazz, gospel, rock n' roll, rap, hip-hop or pop music.
