(Hollywood's Irrational Allergy To Black Films)

Black films not Marketable around the world? If it's not about race/color then there shouldn't be any doubts, questions or excuses when a movie contains majority black cast. But the more people wanna deny the more we continue to see examples that race/color is always a factor.

  • I'll watch a movie once in a while but have givien up on most TV shows. Turn on the TV right now and all you'll see is 98% white faces splashed across the screen on every channel. If TV is supposed to be a representation on the real world, then every show should have at least have 3 to 4 blacks, 2 to 3 hispanics and at least one asian or indian for every 10 whites. But when is this ever the case. So called liberal hollywood has never been minority friendly.

  • Good vid brother keep speaking the truth!

  • you are so like-able.

  • roots with 80 million viewers. c'mon now.

  • @TheCoolmandingo You took the Nail, and hit it with a Jack Hammer with this one!! So true! I'd love to see a Black Movie that has nothing to do with hip hop, the hood, or male bashing.

i def lost interest in "black"movies as of late and not to mention black tv shows.when i look at movies like super bad i see how everything their doing is just things that most regualr teens would do and not just white teens. it seems as though when it comes to black movies we have to"over black" the movie with crackheads, drug dealers and whatever cliche's every tyler perry movie.smh i for one am tired of it.by now holloywood should know not every black person is from the hood.

  • @TheCoolmandingo I've pondered this myself. I think that it's todays culture, if it isn't a Hood flick or a Movie with Black Male bashing in it, it won't get seen. Also I feel that the Black film directors, have become stuck in a mindset that the only movies they can make have to be movies directed at Black adiences only, but this is also why we get so many low budget movies as well. It's as if we don't demand better work from the Black film makers.

  • @supersayin1

i agree with you. thats why Tyler Perry movies make so money.ive noticed over the last decade that "our" movies are dwindling. i remember in the 80's when there where a lot movies coming out from the do the right thing to imma get you sucka. whats going on with ethnic films these days.i know tyler perry isnt the last great black mind in film? smh why do you suppose we dont get those great films we did back inthe day?

  • @MarkTheGreat555666 Correctamundo!!

  • How about we make and market our own films? Do Jews rely on Blacks to market Jewish films?
