i love heavy metal but i can't think of a worse place to see ulver than at metal festival - to me their music is a fine wine to settle into a comfy seat and dive into, not something to be knocked back like jaeger!
The show received mixed reactions, but as a bit of an 'Ulver live' conisseur, I thought it was great. Kris seemed very uncomfortable - I read from him alot of it was to do with the sound guys having no idea what to expect from their live set up and rushing them through soundcheck earlier in the day/so they went on stage on the night with their ears blind, having to play for drunk metal fans who were expecting 90 mins, but only got 55. They played Lost in Moments and Darling Didn't We Kill You.
@Vine666 - Absolutely correct. Their brilliance is wasted on a metal festival crowd....hopefully Roadburn will work better.
