how on earth is this misandrist? the ad isn't saying all men are domestic abusers. neither feminism nor men's rights is advocated here, this is just a domestic violence PSA.

i dislike the fact that domestic abuse towards men isn't as legitimate to society as much as the next person. but this ad is paid for by a women's aid organization. shouldn't you found a men's aid organization instead of just bemoaning this one? or better yet, a gender neutral one for all?

The problem is that men who are against domestic violence ALSO support women's organizations because they are brainwashed to see domestic violence as a problem of the male gender hurting women.

The problem is that when men try to form shelters, they are protested by local women's groups and stonewalled by local authorities. Even the UN has rules where relief funds will be denied to organizations if any of their money goes to fund services for boys or men. Look up feminists' reaction to an equality group trying to host a talk about men's issues at the U of T, it's easy to find in a search.

What? Men and women both fight for that! Millions of men give money to charities for women, celebrity men do ads, thousands of men walk in protests when there is one, men in media address the problem, etc...

And women are privileged when everybody cares about their problems but nobody cares about men's. That's a huge privilege. Billions of tax payer dollars go to women's causes every year.

Who is it that has fought for women shelters? Is it men? No it's women. It were women that fought for them, made them and work there. And cut the crap about women being privileged.

Women aren't the only ones fighting against women being victims of abuse, men do too. Our whole society is structured to care about women and see men as perpetrators.

I think as a woman you should feel lucky about this. You are privileged.

Doesn't matter what people say, women will always be attracted to these badboys [20 percent of men].

The reason that women have had attention is because a) they've fought for that attention themselves and talked about. I haven't noticed many men fighting against domestic abuse against women. And b) the abuse is much more serious when men abuse then when women abuse. Broken bones, trips to the emergency room, concussions, stalking and yes murders is something that happens to female victims much more than male victims.

1 in 4 women a week will be killed by their partners. That says it all.

That might be true, but still a gigantic amount of men get hurt as well. Women often use weapons in these situations.

All in all there's no reason to silence MRA's talking about domestic violence hurting men. I think women REALLY had their fair share of attention for it the last 50 years, didn't they? Domestic violence attention to this today is almost exclusively about women.

Yes the genders abuse each other but the physical violence is usually much more serious when men are perpetrators vs. when women are perpetrators.
