Another of my favorite movies. A small clip from Frank Capra's 1937 film Lost Horizon. You can watch the full film by doing a quick search on Google Video.

  • The '73 remake is better?! God help us all-----

  • In order of greatness: the book, and then this movie.

Noticed the 1973 version didn't even get on the list? That's cause it was crap.

All that damn singing and dancing. Yuck!!

  • A wonderful movie with a wonderful cast. When Jane Wyatt dived into the pool she was naked. Frank Capra told the powers that be she was wearing a body stocking. He got and went to the screen and said, "See you can see the seams." Ah Hollywood trivia.

  • I've yet to find this place...

  • @Sutterjack no one but no one is a better actor than Ronald Coleman.

  • Hilton's story and the 1936 movie have great lessons for our time. A few simple rules for living, no police, because crime exists only when people have "want," and.there is never a lack of resources in Shangri La Everyone works at what he likes. Aging occurs as a result of stress. Life in Shangri La is so peaceful and happy, there is no room for stress. I saw this with my father when I was 10. I said, "Dad, is there really a Shangri La, because I want to go there." One of my favorites

  • Thanks for posting this. I was deeply impressed by this movie when first saw it on TV late one night in the early 1960s. Decades later I realized that it was a severely edited version that lacked all the excellent romance scenes! Thanks to the people who restored almost all of it.

  • The 73 remake was better--my head is spinning.

  • I love this wonderful actor! Am reading his biography now. Thankyou.

  • I love this version and you can't beat Ronald Colman in the part, but I must admit, I like the musical remake much better.
