@xkrystalclear They only tell you to "get out" if they see you "Sneaking" in their store

@hat1324 If you run off with the item to a dark corner, you still have to press the "Sneak" button before you take the item, because there is some kind of glitch where the people can see you through walls,
That's actually why I googled "How to steal in Skyrim", because I was getting caught stealing even when no one was around, but pressing the "Sneak" button fixes it

@djsuperstar717 or you could just run off with the item to a dark corner of the room and then steal it...
