  • whats the sword behind you?

  • he said the tachi is the longest sword.....hes is very wrong....the odachi is the longest look it up...tachi was just a little longer than the katana...it was just more ornate, and the tachi's shirasaya was not for museums. it has been used in japan long before the introduction of museums. it is simply storage sheath. when the battle and main saya (scabbard) is not being used, it keeps the sword looking good when on display at home.

  • hmm, the tachi and katana are long swords, the wakizashi is a middle length and the tanto is shorty then you have the great swords like odachi and nagamaki but ok then...

  • 0:55

Correct me if I'm wrong, but did he just say "Katana; the middle sized blade"?

    Doesn't he mean the Wakizashi?

  • ...taci in the edo (tokugawa period.) as i understood it the tachi largely fell into disuse then.. but i usppose that doesnt precluse them being forgeged as workes of art or skill
