On June 22, 2008 I got a few more shots of the Virginia and Truckee Railroad 'Steam's Back' weekend. These are a few shots including a special tour with people from the Reno Rodeo. When the train stops in Gold Hill Famous Will from Virginia City is singing and playing guitar on board while Tom Gray and crew runs the engine by the crowd, re-couples and runs back to Virginia City.

I didn't take the full time to add titles here, and there's a couple choppy cuts in the transitions and a couple bad pans. Oh, well, you'll still get the idea and have some fun watching this railroad video about the Virginia and Truckee Railroad in Virginia City, Nevada.

  • Sorry I haven't posted new videos for awhile. I've been busy and RR video has been waaayyy on the backburner. If some troll posts nasty comments I apologize if I don't delete them quickly.

  • How long till we see a video of the 29 going through tunnel #2(?), the tracks are through it if I am not misstaken.

  • This should be happening this week! On October 15 the V&T is running an Engineer's special for all the government workers, construction people and engineering people who have their fingers in this project. Originally it was supposed to be 200 people invited by Ken Dorr's daughter, last week she said it would be about 100.

  • last time I saw a five chime as I recall I know I saw a 5 chime for that steamer out there #8 or #18 one of the two but i could be wrong I dont think its a 6 chime

  • will the 29 continue running on the new line

  • very nice I cas sort of disapointed this year when I was in Virginia City I had full access to the V&T all day and they only had the diesel running I rode in the cab and had a good time but it was steam I was there for #29 was at the shop I saw it but it wasnt running

  • What is the history of this engine? It has a really peculiar exhaust beat to it as if the valve gear was damaged/worn. I can't say I've ever heard such odd uneven chuff.

  • Hard Core!

  • what kind of whistle does 29 have on her now?

  • Thank you VT&T for keeping Nevada's history alive!! You all are doing great work.
