When you really think about it, is "B/c the Bible says so" really a valid reasion of why you should or shouldn't base a moral decision on? Jesus said that he is the Truth...how does this play into making good decisions? Listen to this message from Josh - one you won't want to miss!

  • An astonishing and horrible thing Has been committed in the land: The prophets prophesy falsely, And the priests rule by their own power; And My people love to have it so.

But what will you do in the end? [Jeremiah 5:30-31] Legalism? A man made doctrine!

How do you know the person, character and nature of God apart from scripture?

Sell all you have, give to the poor, take up your cross daily and follow me.

    Josh is teaching error.

  • Point was that we shd focus on our relatnshp with the Lord rather than workg from a list of rules. The Bible is Gods instruction book (guidelines to live the abundant life promisd in Jn 10:10) & His luv letter to us. The rules are b/c He wants to protect & provide for us, & He wants to do those things b/c He luvs us deeply & is passionate about a relationship w/ us. Focusg first & foremost on our relatnshp w/ Him, our right-doing will naturally flo out of our right-being w/ Him. Chrissy JMM

  • Excellent teaching. The Bible is important because its Gods word. Its the spirit of the law that matters - as in the sermon of the mount. "who has made us competent to be ministers of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life." (2 Co 3:6)

  • you said that in the end part of your video that why is killing wrong.. isnt mentioned in the bible that killing is right too? raping is right too? murdering innocent children is right too? slavery is right too? because all these are in the bible...god instructed modes to carry and show the people the ten commandments (one of it is though shall not kill (murder).. but god violated it when moses went down god said to kill those 3000 men..why?

  • how can you have a relationship to a god who is invicible. how can you feel the love of someone whom you cannot feel, hear and see?

  • Religion is not a bases for morality, morality is innate, it is a trait that was past down to us by our evolutinary ancesters.

  • @JoshMcDowell This is true, good point.

  • OK ... I get it.... You don't believe the Bible. What a bunch of wack jobs.

  • You are blinded, and it isn't your fault. I am ecstatic that you have a firm relationship with GOD, but your tight perception on doctrine comes from the molding of knowledge in the mind. Possibly from growing up thinking one thing was true the whole time, it's hard to accept anything other.

The truth is, the bible is a means to control, it is edited 100x, there are innumerable omissions straight from Jesus's mouth.

And false prophecy is the church's only defense. God's love is the truth.

  • 'Seems' is a very 'interesting' word. I Don't know if you ever saw Enter the Dragon, but there's a part at the start where Bruce Lee tells his pupil to look at the sun and points to the sky. The pupil looks at Lee's finger. Lee reprimands him and tells him not to concentrate on the finger otherwise he will miss all that heavenly glory. Kind of the same thing. We want what the Bible talks about. Having a roadmap is no good if you don't take the journey of FAITH for yourself.

  • Thought it was cool. I agree with im. God comes First.

  • McDowell seems to emphasize one can; "get to know the person, character and nature" outside of the Bible.

    That IS error.

One may become curious in observing Christians lead their life, creation, life, etc.... to want to get to know God, But God Sent His Word that we may know the person, character and nature of Himself.
