Minecraft Cast Away #16 - Nether Adventure

Welcome to Minecraft 1.1 in Minecraft Cast Away! I've started a brand new world with the seed "292202" which, along with being the official distance traveled in my Far Lands or Bust world, is a seed that spawns you in the middle of an ocean without a single tree.

In today's episode, we finally head into the Nether for the first time!

I've decided on a few rules for Cast Away to keep things interesting:
1) Play on HARD difficulty setting!
2) No setting new spawn points! I can sleep, but have to break the bed immediately after. This way, if I die, I am sent all the way back to the original spawn point on the deserted island.

Umm...hmm...what to say for a comment...I simply MUST comment, since I do on every vid I watch (that wasn't made by someone who BLOCKED ME! DX )...Umm...umm...Slimes. Okay, yeah, slimes: they don't spawn above the bottom 16 layers of the map (if that's changed since 1.6.5, please let me know, someone) so...yeah. Kurt needs to go down far to find slimes.

That wasnt dramatic.

Its just noises that occur near or in a dark place somewhere in 3 x 3 x 3 or larger spaces

Also, in my first night in survival, I saw and killed a slime and a spider jockey.

I was playing in creative, and I put a portal right at my spawn point. I go through, turn left, and BOOM! A fortress.
