"Everyone talks about the weather and no one can do anything about it. Right? Wrong. Human activity has sharply increased the concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, dramatically affecting our weather.

"The effects of climate change are already being felt in the U.S. and around the world in the form of not only extreme weather, but encroaching disease, water shortages, acidifying oceans, species loss, and increasing atmospheric temperatures.

"The scientific consensus is that climate change is caused by increases in concentrations of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases in the atmosphere from human activity. That's right. We are helping to create our own bad weather.

"Science has determined that the atmospheric concentration of carbon dioxide before the industrial revolution was 275 parts per million. Today it is about 394.

"While we may already be past a tipping point, if we set a limit on concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere now, there is a chance we can soften the negative effects of global climate change.

"Let's look at the evidence: The amount of reflective surface area on the Earth, now provided primarily by ice and snow, is lessening. Geological deposits with gigatons of methane, which has well over 15 times the warming capacity of carbon dioxide, are being released from permafrost and from the bottom of the ocean. There is a growing acidification of the ocean and a loss of forest cover due to deforestation and forest fires. This hinders the absorption of atmospheric carbon dioxide.

"These conditions challenge our resolve as a people. We simply must set aside all partisan, philosophical and economic differences in a great movement to save our planet for ourselves and for future generations.

"Accordingly, and consistent with the best science available, I will submit to Congress a resolution which will help promote national, economic and environmental security by the adoption of a target of 350 parts per million of atmospheric carbon dioxide. It will be a yardstick by which to evaluate domestic and international climate change policies. Our nation should develop domestic and international energy and environmental policies that are sufficiently flexible to accommodate advancing science, tipping points and apparent changes in weather which now threaten life, the environment, property, the economy and our infrastructure.

"It is time to unite to save our nation and our planet."

Oh, wow, yeah, scientist completely overlooked the 11 year sun cycle. Strange that the planet has been getting warmer and warmer over the last 100 years. But if you want to engage in pathetic ad hominems as a means of trying to "win" your argument, I would suggest that you remove the "completely rational thinker" from your self description.

Too bad it wasn't really humans causing all the changes... The sun activity is what makes the planet heat up. We might affect it slightly, but nature knows how to regulate itself as it has for eons.

you know people are truly sheep when they would rather listen to a politician on a scientific matter then an actual scientist

"Some scientific conclusions or theories have been so thoroughly examined and tested, and supported by so many independent observations and results, that their likelihood of subsequently being found to be wrong is vanishingly small. Such conclusions and theories are then regarded as settled facts. This is the case for the conclusions that the Earth system is warming and that much of this warming is due to human activities."

The planet has been on a warming trend for over a hundred years. This is what the data shows. Look it up. All arguments that I have seen that make the claim that the planet is cooling are done so by "cherry picking" data. That is, they chose one low temperature and 10 years after that find a lower temperature to try to make the case that the planet is cooling. However, when looking at the overall trend, the planet is in fact getting warmer.

Also, I love how people forget basic science, and believe this rhetoric. Has everyone truly forgotten that all the plants on this planet, use CO2 as fuel. CO2 is a miracle gas that helps plants grow in even the harshest conditions. In fact, standard greenhouses that grow vegetation have levels 12x the amount of our atmosphere while workers inside have never shown signs of any health problems.

I'm sorry ev1isoda but your misinformed, the actual rate of change via industrialization of the whole world is around 0.38% Less than 1%. If your willing to read, I know someone who was on the global warming/acid rain team in the 80's that the recent evidence is based off of, who now runs a site that proves that we have been in a state of cooling since 1998. Also you could look up "negative feedback" as its not possible for earth to go into a state of warming like they claim it can.

People are misinformed, Carbon dioxide does NOT create climate change, climate change creates carbon dioxide. The ocean has greater concentrations of CO2 at lower sea levels. As the water evaporates from hotter temperatures, via the sun and earths orbital positions, the CO2 goes to the surface and into the air. However the more CO2 in the air, the more often clouds will form, reflecting sunlight and will then cool the earth. Global warming is no more real, than global cooling was in the 70's.

Carbon dioxide is natural and normal. Carbon dioxide is not the cause of climate change. The sun increasing its energetic magnitude, the life of a star, causes planetary warming and solar systemic warming as a whole. The Zionists want to tax the gentiles for breathing and driving when we are already near starving, burden with debt, and or already unable to survive... which results from the tightening of the monetary system resulting from Zionist shenanigans in the first place.
