I'm very worried about crony capitalism, where the big boys cut their deals in Washington and the small guys are left out on the sideline. I'm worried about making this permanent.

The agenda this year: take over the energy sector with cap-and-trade; take over the health care sector trying to get a bill done before Christmas; huge spending increases government agency budgets are up 24% since FY2008; this financial sector overhaul with bailouts made permanent. We have a very ambitious government that has moved deeply left of center, moving this agenda through very quickly before their votes start slipping away from them.

Take a look at where were going with macroeconomic policy: higher taxes; higher regulatory barriers; far more spending - all on borrowed money, which adds to our huge debt problem, which will further debase our currency. These things are bad economic policies for the medium- and long-run, and, I would argue, also in the short-run. When you're conducting this kind of economic policy, which really does put the Federal Government more in firm control of the economy, that's not good and that is why we are not having robust growth going forward.

  • ~~^^GOP's Paul Ryan uses"projection"when ACCUSING Obama of"class warfare". CLASS WARFARE is what REPUBLICAN$ have been waging for the last 30 yrs. Since the Reagan& Bush tax cuts, the wealthest have been paying less tax than at anytime in America's history. More jobs have been lost in said period than at anytime since 1929. PAULIE,everyone form NY to Janesville,WI (your hometown)to Seattle knows that YOU are out to DESTROY MEDICARE..~^~^YOUR CORPORATE DONATIONS& RETIRE.YOUR LOBBYING JOB AWAITS.

  • Does it bother any Conservatives that Frank makes up the buzz words to kill the bill...

before the bill is even written?

Or that they sell you your public policy the same way they sell you your pepsi?

Are we happy with the 37th worst care in the world..

..... for which we pay the second highest price?

  • That blonde bimbo is really stupid. And ANYBODY who supports and backs Obama and his healthcare plan are blind and ignorant. With the Cornusker kickback, Obama and his ship of fools extended the deal to all 50 states (did you hear that Obama, FIFTY STATES, NOT 58); WEAKENS AND DELALAYS COST CONTROL: the plan delays implementation of the new tax (exempting Obamacare's new health insurance tax) until 2018 and raises the threshold for taxation to $27,000.

  • STEALS MORE MONEY FROM MEDICARE: to pay for Cornhusker Kickbacks, increased subsidies for health insurance and the health insurance tax delay, the White House raises the Medicare payroll tax and extends it for the 1st time ever to investment income; Obama is trying to prevent the TARP Inspector General from overseeing the program despite the FACT that Obama is trying to fund his new small business program with TARP funds.

  • The new bill does NOT creat a TARP FUND! It ensures that if a company is too big to fail - but is failing - that company will be DISMANTLED, the costs being paid by a fund that all large institutions must pay into. THAt IS NOT BAILOUT!

He is drinking the Frank Luntz Kool-aide, anyone get that?

  • makes us think

  • interesting information .. I liked

  • I agree with what you are saying but the American consumer is broke because of the lack of jobs. Companies are not hiring cause they are not sure of what the future holds. In the form of higher tax via cap n trade, health care reform and the Obama simulus package. I'm scared of what's going to happen when inflation take hold due to the amount of gov spending. God help us all.....

  • If only Ryan was one of the men yimmy89 is speaking of. Paul Ryan for TARP, Auto Bailouts, and the whole AIG bonus tax. Now he pretends that he is concerned about the budget. He is only a conservative when it is popular.

  • well, this Congress has 10 months left to ruin the country AND to raise campaign funds and campaign for the chance for another ruinous term. Low fundraising and low poll ratings will encourage Congress to get out of Washington and go back home to campaign or solicit campaign funds. Keep up the pressure. And keep the faith.
