@hypnosegirl16 Then I guess we saw the movie very differently, I see your point and understand that that was also the ''message'' the movie tried to push but I viewed it another way, I saw a young woman giving up on a chance at her one true love, being with the one person she was truly meant for because the idea of eternal life scared her, I realize how to you it may seem as though she chose a shorter but more fulfilled life over a ''boy'', but I disagree, great movie either way

@foreverwandering102 This book & movie were released WAY before Twilight. Therefore, Twilight is a vampire cop-out of this awesome story.

@StikWitClassics What obstacles did Bella ever face? She had a difficult pregnancy that's it. It's an insult to compare this to Twilight. B&E had pure lust after less than a month whilst W&J fell for each other over time way before he told her that he was immortal. I used to love Twilight but now I've 'seen the light' & really think it's a terrible series especially for impressionable young girls. Tuck Everlasting teaches an awesome life lesson that you clearly missed.

@sionsidhe9 You totally missed the point of her choice. Yes, their love was very sweet and genuine (unlike Bella & Edward) but she realized that there was more to life than a boyfriend. I bet that she never forgot him and maybe some part of her regretted her choice because he was a great friend to her but I believe that she made the right decision. She 'threw it away' to make the most of the time she has been given & not waste it by wishing for more.

She was a fool not to drink from the well, she had a love most people would kill for and she just threw it away and for what? he would have loved her forever and she gave it up, sad
