he Balboas return from an 8-year hiatus with new drummer Dusty Watson (Agent Orange, Dick Dale, Lita Ford) and a whole new outlook on the holidays. With a new full-length CD due in late Spring 2011, "This is Santa Claus" provides a glimpse into the twisted garage punk surf that made the band a household name in households composed of rapidly aging young men who buy a lot of surf, psychobilly, trash, and garage rock off of the internet.

The Balboas recorded and toured from 1997-2002. With the LPs Heavy Surf Advisory and Little Bit of Fear under their rancid belts, the group played up and down the East Coast through the turn of the century and capped off their existence with runs through Europe and California.

As documented on their live CD, Duvel's Advocate: Live in Europe, the four boys and one girl (bassist Caitie O'Shea) stomp through raunchy, intense, and reverb-drenched ground as they grab 60's guitar rock by the neck.
