  • what issue of showcase is that at 1:33? Never seen that one.

  • That was the Showcase issue 106 that never appeared in print. It did get printed in the B&W Cancelled Comics Cavalcade which only a select few received and lots of money on ebay. It might be printed in the Creeper book coming out this year?

  • I really enjoyed this a lot as I covet my old issues of Charlton Comics (my entire collection, for that matter), but why are the photos so blurry?

Still, it was nice to see some of these again!

  • Thanks for the comment. It might be the software that creates the slideshow. While some are a slight affect some as a Mr.A. scan came out a little dark.

  • I think Mr. Ditko has moved on from Spider-Man. When I met him, he told me that was something he did 50 years ago and that he's living in the now. Mr. Ditko is a gentleman and a very down to earth person. It was a honor to shake his hand and express my gratitude for the inspiration his work inspires. The art, as always, speaks for him.

  • Great montage, Ditko was an amazing artist,no mistaking his classic style.

  • I love the old Spider-Man books that he did. There's a biography out on Steve Ditko called Strange and Stranger. If you want more information see my review of the book on squidoo by searching under the phrase ''Strange and Stranger.''

  • Cool! Is Steve Ditko Jewish, anyone? I am merely curious as his name sounds unusual.

  • Ditko created Spiderman and Stan the Jew as usual stole it.

  • I always loved Romita Sr.'s version of Spidey but nothing beats the original, Ditko rules!

  • By the way, awesome video.

  • I actually have the first issue of Ditko's "Shade the Changing Man". I still need to read it.
