Thanks for the video, but in my opinion what you're talking about aren't riffs but rather licks. Riff comes from the term rhythmic figure, and part of that is their looping nature (i.e. they hold together when repeated). Licks are musical ideas that are best applied when played through once, which is what you were demonstrating (in my opinion). Anyways, useful video, thanks for posting it.
