On April 22, economist Art Carden of Rhodes College stopped by the Show-Me Institute's office to talk to the staff about his research. Carden's recent work focuses on the economic impact of Walmart and other big-box retailers. In his remarks, he pokes holes in the many popular misconceptions surrounding such retail chains.

  • Oh yeah, thanks again, The Show Me Instituted, for another amazing video. So informative. Very intellectually stimulating, very entertaining, and, of course, these videos give me the strong talking points needed to stand one's ground in many, many policy debates. Lets get these libertarian policies and tax-reductions into effect and watch America bloom into the Super Economy!!

  • Wal Mart saves the average family $170 a year. How scary... My big question is, "Why should we even start to care about anyone losing their precious 'mom and pop' store, when everyone ELSE is saving money, themselves?"

    Of course, no one is hurt from wal mart.
