I ended up getting the Juicedlink DS214 for my Canon T3i mainly to monitor audio and because the preamps on the Canon stink. Magic Lantern wont let you monitor audio on a T3i yet so it doesn't solve my problem. And the MP3 hack is lame. I have manual audio control on T3i so I crank the audio down to 1 click and then use JL combined with Rode Video Mic Pro or my wireless lavalier system. My audio is now clean. I also have the option to run dual audio and combine my shotgun and lav system!

@ChadWork1 sounds good my friend, thank you. Guess I will have to work that in to the budget lol...buy one thing and you need something else to make it work good...sad for someone on a budget

So funny. Hope you don't get served a dish of "get away from me" too often! :-)

@Liline717 All the information is in the video - and the links are in the video description. Use google to search the names of anything else. B&H Photo is a great place to order video gear.

Is that a splitter your using on the 214 to get the g3 & VMP into the JL?

@lakestatefishing Yes that puts them in to the left & right channels for complete separation, and easy editing in post.

You should do a review of the ART Tube MP - Its 40$ and claims it does 70db of preamp...or just let me know your opinion on it, I don't want to spend over 100 bucks to get my already 600$ audio set up (Zoom H4n + Rode NTG-2) to work halfway descent!

@Cloujus Trust me, ART is not the way to go if you want clean audio for vdeo. You have to budget in a real preamp if you want pro sound. The Sound Devices MixPre-D is the only way to go. But if you want to experiment with the ART, it will only be a loss of 40 bucks! But I won't be buying an ART just to test what I already know.
