A boring and not very thoughtful performance, stylistically off and burdened with many unpleasant sounds that are unusual for Fleming, who sometimes tries to get by on her smile and her looks... Sills was the great seductress. Bartoli sings this with infinite understanding.

@callasfan100 Mine too, but there are many other good singers out there too. And Maria would have told us to appreciate them all, So big hearted was she. A True Artist and a genius.

This CD was my introduction to Handel's incredible breadth and depth of operas and I still like Fleming's treatment of this piece in comparison with the others I have heard.

She is supposed to be seductive here; she sounds like she's reading a laundry-list. Sills reigns supreme.

Renee is good but she is no Sills, Troyanos or Te Kanawa. I give her a B+ with this aria. Handel is not her strong suit anyway still, she gives it a great go!
