@DonKretsaras wrong, to utilize most of the engines power the rev's should be kept between the peak torque and peak hp figure, a well design gearbox in a performance car will drop the revs from peak hp straight to peak torque for the best result

@conkeroonee wrong, like a half of an I6, i.e BMW's, Porsche's, some Mercs, Toyota's (Supras), Lexus' (Toyota engines), Dodge Ram (Cummins I6 diesel), Jeep, Nissan (R34's), old Jaguars and many many more, the problem with the 3 cylinder engine is that it retains the downsides of a V6 type block due to an odd number of cylinders, although I believe that the reduction of cylinders in cars is a great idea as it can increase efficiency drastically
