Corporate video of the VRB flow battery - the vanadium redox flow battery energy storage system. The VRB Energy Storage System (VRB-ESS) is uniquely able to enhance renewable energy sources. Variable wind and solar generation can be smoothed and dispatched as needed because the VRB can quickly cycle from deep discharge to fully charged an unlimited number of cycles over a 10 - 20 years of useful life. Unlike other battery technologies, the state of charge is always known, the system cannot catch fire or explode, the electrolyte does not "wear out" - so recycling is not an issue, it is unaffected by temperature extremes, and the power capacity (kW) can be sized separately from the energy storage (kWhr). The system is scalable from 5 kW to multi-megawatts and hours of storage. More information at:
