About Chris Orwig
Chris Orwig is a celebrated photographer, author and teacher. He is on the photography faculty at the Brooks Institute in Santa Barbara, CA and he is the author of numerous best-selling books. More importantly, Chris brings unique perspective, creativity and passion to all that he does. As a photographer, he subscribes to Marc Riboud's observation that "Photography is about savoring life at 1/100th of a second." For Chris the adventure is now, and the journey has already begun -- discover, look, listen, learn and live.
About TEDx, x = independently organized event
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized. (Subject to certain rules and regulations.)
I was only introduced to your photographic work on stage at the recent American Riviera Tedx, and I know I was amazed at that...but what streamed tears down my face during your talk with us, was what you illustrated and excavated from your soul and your feelings of loss. I turned a corner that day with my loss and can see the beauty and possibility it has brought over the last 6 years. Thank you for that...beauty was certainly felt!

Thanks a lot for sharing. Those are indeed the words an aspiring photographer should hear. It all boils down to your character above your technical skill. Thanks a lot.

I enjoyed the way Chris put the words together. I will remember his verbal essay each time I pick up my camera.
Thanks Chris.
