Last night, myself and 3 friends sat down for 4 hours and attained 1 million points in the Atari game Laser Blast.

It was clearly a sight to behold.

  • Freaking awesome video! Is there supposed to be no sound?

  • It was taken with a semi-old digital camera, so there was no mic.

  • Activision really needs to start production on those patches again.

  • @kip9999 lol, If mitcheml was there he would've sent you some of that paint stripper he calls sauce lol

  • I did this in 1984, took a polaroid of the screen and sent it in toi Activision. Never got my patch. Billy Mitchell probably worked at Activision at the time...

  • ! ! ! ! ! !

  • @DoctressJulia I was just mentioning in another video on here, I sent in for three patches at once, one for Laser Blast (1 million points), one for Starmaster (Wing Commander rank), and one for Space Shuttle. I never got them. And yes, I'm still bitter. I'm pretty sure my mom still has the second set of pictures we took too. It'd be funny to send 'em in now and see what happens.

  • lol, why would you do this?

  • Nice!!! Too late to get the patch now though, lol.

  • I scored 1 million points on Laser Blast (I was about 10) and sent my Poloroid in of the screen, and NEVER got my patch! Dammit.

  • Oh. My. God.

As a boy, I too scored a million points after hours of play. I had my Dad snap a photo and we sent it in to Activision and I was admitted to the Federation of Laser Blasters and was sent my Million Point Patch.

God knows where it is now. Probably at my Mom's house in her attic somewhere. Along with my 2600, probably. I oughta dig that stuff out and sell it on eBay or something.

Anyway...The world was a better place back then. Thanks so much for posting this!

  • Holy Crap... I also got 1,000,000 back in 81 or 82.. It took me hours, and the score goes to the exclamation marks like yours did... I wanted to get a picture of the screen for proof, when a buddy dropped by and I told him not to start a new game... He said no problem, and grabbed the controller not realizing hitting the fire button resets to a new game... I freaked out and threw him out of the house! LOL...

Awesome memories... we had over 40 cartridges for Atari.
