That the Israeli government is building an illegal wall in the occupied Palestinian territories, you will probably know. But do you also know how it is to live in the shadows of the wall? Watch the clip that United Civilians for Peace (www.unitedcivilians.nl) screened during the concert of Roger Waters! (Gelredome, 5th of May)

  • @barorg You're an idiot. You do not build a wall to keep "terrorists" away. Terrorism can come from anywhere in the world and to be fair the Israelis started the entire war 60+ yrs ago when they decided it was okay to uproot families and kill innocent Palestinians that refused to leave -- so they react and suddenly they're the terrorists.

If you want a wall for "security," fine. You do NOT cut into peoples property you build it on the BORDER.

  • In and interview filmed near Israel's "security wall" Roger Waters made the following point:

If the wall was really about Israel's security, Then why not build it on Israel's side of the green line, and not deep inside the occupied west bank.

End the military occupation of the West Bank.

    End the siege of Gaza.

    Give the Palestinians their homeland.

  • This wall that he's crying over is simply keeping terrorists from killing their intended targets. If the palestinians were a peaceable people, there would be no need for it. Like one of our ancestors said, if men were angels, we would not need government. If men were not violent, we would not need to protect ourselves from them.

  • I've been to that gig in Arnhem. Now I remember seeing the message. Back then it felt a kind of out of place. Roger didn't say anything about it so it didn't really make an impression on the people (who were all waiting for the concert to begin). For me it's very hard to imagine what it's like living in the shadow of a wall. I'm sure some people feel safer, but it also divides people (even further maybe). I don't think building walls is ever going to be a solution to problems.

  • danoni81 - I see you live in Israel and for us to say to you"tear down the wall" would have been like saying (years ago) to my friend next door who is Protestant and grew up in Belfast - bring the British Troops Out! I used to hear it myself and say there would be a blood bath -but now years later, all the troops are out, my neighbour is living with a devout Catholic woman (with an Irish father) and two wonderful "babies" are the result of this.

  • There's always two sides to a story but the wall is illegal and inhumane and does not make things better, no matter what you think.

  • Why, I wonder has no one else wished to comment about this video? I'm sure there must be people who saw it at a Roger Waters concert? - Or maybe you were at the bar (or really drunk) at the time?!

  • I've had some really amazing "coincidences" around this man and "Pink Floyd" including finding out that someone I know (through a local "Stop The War" group had known them and written a book about them called "Bricks In The Wall" - and has also been to Palestine and been injured by an Israli grenade.
