Someone asked a while back how I made my own dish soap and I had forgotten about it til the other day. Sorry it took me so long to show you this. It was "an Experiment" lol I just stuck some end pieces form one of my log soaps in some water and let it sit and dissolve. After it sits for a few months it gets kind of weird looking. Like a thick jellyfish consistency. Just thin it down by adding more water. I like using this and it's cheaper than buying store bought plus I know what's in mine. I LOVE to recycle and I try not to waste anything. This works for me but it may not be something you want to do.

  • Love this idea. I make laundry soap from my scraps so I don't know why I didn't think of this. Thanks for sharing :o)

  • @valhallasoapco Thank you! It was just one of my experiments at the time and it turned out great. I love it. Now instead of having all that scrap soap sitting around, I put it to really good use.

  • I will have to try this :) I'm running low on dish washing liquid and had planned on not buying more. You wouldn't happen to be in AL would you?

  • @civicsakura It's simple and a great use for all those scraps of soap us soapers seem to have an never ending supply of. lol No, I use to but not any more. Why? lol

  • @1dreampainter JW because AL is where I am from and I could tell from the accent lol Sounds just like mine :D

  • @civicsakura lol funny, I didn't think I had an accent. I am from MS gulf coast so we used to be neighbors, small world. lol

  • I did this but it does not cut through grease...any ideas what I could add for this result?

  • @1dreampainter Well, everyone has an accent... yours is adorable. It makes me miss Nor' Cackalacky (North Carolina)... I am willing to bet you make boys' legs all jelly-like when you use phrases like that ie 0:58... your laugh is infectious, too... and I'm a girl :P It's funny--only a few can ever place my accent, but not many realize Ben Folds is southern, either, so they don't understand why I talk more like him, though when I turn the southern up, it's a VERY effective way to flirt :P

  • 2 table spoons of bleach and one table spoon of vinegar is how we do ours. Kills bacteria and germs while washing.

  • Great idea! I use the slivers of soap from the bath in the washing machine.

  • You ladies are so smart! I definitely will give it a try, since I've allergic to those dish detergent which always dries out my skin & makes my skin very very itchy. I almost have no finger prints due to those chemical!
