Silent Hill 5 Screenshots SlideShow

I'm a huge Silent Hill fan and let me tell you up front, I'm NOT happy with the way SH5 is handeled, I'm disgusted by the people working on this game and their obsession with raw mechanics rater than the artistic side of a Silent Hill game.
These people are the technical types, they can't make an artistically good game, they might improve the combat and controls but they will NOT have the artistic and atmospheric aspect of Silent Hill 5 down.
Even if they have the best monster designs and stuff unless they know how to put it all together, how to write a compelling and emotionally strong story they won't have a good Silent Hill game.

With that being said SH2 is easily one of the best, emotionally strongest and most beautiful games ever made. Silent Hill 3 and 4 weren't half bad either.
SH4 however could've been as good as 2, it had the story and setting and with it the potential to be on the same level as SH2, unfortunately due to poor story presentation with very little and shot cutscenes all that potential went down the drain.

I didn't forget SH1 at all, but that's too old and while it did have a great story it wasn't nearly as good as that of SH2.

I love SH1 as much as SH3, in fact they're both one big good story, just not as good as II.

Also the First Silent Hill was the only one that I actually found scary, the 2nd one gave me a feeling of sadness and nostalgia which was even more awesome than the fear of SH1 and 3 was just great but not scary or anything for me.

SH4 did manage to disturb me a few times though.

come on have some hope. wait til it sucks to bash it. i get what u are saying but they are probably pressed by other people to improve on the combat and other things and try to put something new, now the artistic side, there is no telling what they are going to do, i really hope they dont turn it into like the movie which was gay. ps. Sh1 was my fav and the only one that scared me as well..save for maybe pyramid head in 2

Ey Dude! You Forget Silent Hill started in PSX and me & the family was freaked by the game play story wasnt that good yet, but over all SH2 had the best story, followed by and I agree with you SH4, SH3 was a bit odd the monsters where to big and story was revolving to much around than focusing on the STORY about the town that never was... HOPE YOU AGREE WITH ME, SHorigins havent played it, NO PSP yet dont know how to rate it for now...
