Yeah for the most part. Just a bunch of little riffs I picked up by ear and put together.

It's not too hard. Just learn a few riffs and get really comfortable playing them. Then learn a few more riffs. Then figure out how to connect them. Don't worry about learning scales. Scales are useless. If you were trying to learn to a new language, you wouldn't start by learning paragraphs at a time, you just start by learning a few words and phrases. Same as guitar.
