The song is from my favorite movie, Gadjo Dilo, and is sung by Rona Hartner. Rona's exotic and also dramatic interpretation makes the song extremely beautiful and haunting. It is about a gypsy who has disappeared and whom everyone wants back. It is a symbolic quest for a wonderful, strange race that has made us dream and also made us aware of the "gypsy in our souls."

My compliments to Rona for the way she handles so many languages in just one song.

  • @fgschneider1970 I do not understand the hate.

  • In Romania, people think that just because you have a Romanian passport and a Romanian birth certificate, you aren't necessarily Romanian. UNLESS you become famous. If a Romanian of Hungarian origins does something bad they say "Oh, he's a Magyar, not Romanian!" but if he does something great, they say "Oh him!? Yes, he's a very famous Romanian!" It seems that Romanian professors don't teach students about DNA. There is no such thing as a "pure" anything.

  • @valdesign85 yes, you are right...

  • @hermanschwartz65 well I wasn't talking about her roots! Cause if you think like that maybe a lot of people are not Romanian:))...not even me...I said she's a Romanian actress because she was born in Romania, she lived and studied there for a long time!...and she will always say that she's a Romanian, with a German origin and a gypsy ethnicity :)
