He is in a rich affluent country - and he is giving away pathetic small money considering how much it costs to make a TV programme... that's why it was hard to find a volunteer.
He needs to go to a country where people are poor. The women wouldn't be any more happy about it... but they'd finder it harder to refuse the money. It's called exploitation ;-)
