@MrEnlighteneddespot Unfortunately there are many, gullable, impressionable, people who may actually consider what PR preaches is true. As a very public person, what he says has potentially a very large audience, and I find that disturbing.

@oodnac Evil is a very strong word and usually associated with somebody who takes pleasure in directly harming others. As far as I am aware, Pat Robertson has never killed anybody, but rather helped spread the word of God to the whole planet and provide aid and resources to those who are suffering. His operation blessing has funded over $500 million aid to help relieve poverty throughout much of the developing world. I don't the girl in Africa who no longer has to walk for water calls Pat evil.

Pat Robertson was only speculating. It was a very ignorant, out-of-line and thoughtless statement to make, but it was not concrete. He wasn't stating the case as if the Haiti earthquake was the absolute consequence of a deal with the devil, he was suggesting a possible reason for the suffering experienced by the Haitians over the last two centuries. We all make mistakes, and Pat let his tongue get away with him here.
