  • Wait when did they drive hard now???

  • @WVFreebyrd personally my favorite track in the country is Lebanon Valley Speedway, a clay half mile oval near Albany NY. Maybe Cup should race their =D

  • @WVFreebyrd thank got we get that awesome track at Iowa on the Cup schedule next year.... and I have a feeling we will get Rockingham back one of these years seeing how it just on renovated. Also the half mile in Irwindale, CA is talking about making an attempt at the Cup schedule. Sure it's a Cali track, but at least it's a fairly unique short track

  • @erasetoimprove You make an excellent point regarding the type of track. I'm not sure but I think just about every one of the new tracks is mile and half (?). A person can say what they want about the history and tradition of Charlotte but it has never been a track known for close, door handle to door handle racing. The field spreads out quickly. So what do they do? They went out and built a bunch of "Charlottes". So good point that the style/type of track may be a huge factor as well.

  • @WVFreebyrd well there are parts of the North that are just as, if not moreso into NASCAR than the south. Such as New England, which is where I live. You can't take a walk up here without seeing a NASCAR shirt.... and according to statistics New England has higher demand than the Southeast for a new race track. But I also don't believe in keeping NASCAR only in the south. I think it's just the type of tracks that were built which caused the problems... not the areas.

  • @erasetoimprove Definitely agree on the return to Rockingham. The NASCAR brass abandoned their roots to move into other markets (nontraditional markets) such as Chicago, Kansas City, California. I think NASCAR is now starting to see that once the "novelty" wore off in those markets the populace does not support NASCAR. And that's not a surprise because NASCAR is not a part of those folks culture whereas it is in the south. So, they should have never left their southern base.

  • @WVFreebyrd they should just get rid of the gimmicky all star race and replace it with a full point paying race at Rockingham or Irwindale or something like that. It's always been a pretty boring event I.M.O, last good one I've seen was in 1993.

  • Yawn.........total snoozefest the past several years no matter how they tweak the format.

  • Who else thinks that silver 3 look as bad ass as the black 3?

  • @jamespic not really.... it was actually a much different wreck just in the same part of the track with the same car
